It was 1979 when, for the first time in its history, the Maison officially gave a name to its model, Piaget Polo, recalling the homonymous sport practiced by the jet set and the most glamorous lifestyles. The leitmotif of the time was undoubtedly glamor, but declined in forms that defied the traditional rules of luxury. In the seventies, people began to free themselves from outdated design codes, opting for new forms of elegance, more sporty and informal.
On the wrist of Andy Warhol, this model witnessed the wild nights at Studio 54 and, over the years, its refined style also captured the attention of other celebrities such as Roger Moore o Bjorn Borg and his wife Mariana.

Piaget Polo Date 36 mm: characteristics and models
Piaget Polo is renowned for its “shapein-shape” design with a round bezel and tonneau dial, which remain the heart of this new model. Thanks to the thin automatic caliber 501P, the new Piaget Polo Date 36 mm has an elegant and refined profile, perfect for this smaller model. The movement is equipped with a slate gray oscillating weight, which can be seen from the sapphire crystal caseback.
The graphic dial features a horizontal guilloché pattern, Dauphine and skeleton hands, date at six o’clock and diamond-set indexes. Most models are equipped with an interchangeable strap system and are also available with a metal or gold bracelet, which alternates
shiny and satin H-design links perfectly integrated into the case.
Piaget presents two refined 36 mm models in stainless steel with matching steel bracelets and a combination of details with polished and satin finishes. One model sports a stunning dark blue Piaget dial and sparkling diamond-set gold indexes, while the other features an all-white dial with a bright bezel and diamond-set diamonds, paired with diamond-set gold indexes.
Two refined models in rose gold they shine thanks to the snow-white diamonds and dials, in the versions with a slate gray alligator strap or a bracelet entirely in rose gold. For lovers of gems set, Piaget presents two entirely pavé models, one of them with a dark blue alligator strap and the other with a fully pavé bracelet with diamonds.
